    Description

Magnesia chrome brick is a basic refractory brick made from magnesia and chrome oxide, with periclase and magnesia-chrome spinel as the main mineral phases. It provides high refractoriness, strong resistance to alkaline slag erosion, good thermal stability, and reliable high-temperature strength.

Key Features of Magnesia Chrome Brick

    High Refractoriness

Stable performance and strength under continuous high-temperature furnace conditions.

    Slag & Corrosion Resistance

MgO-rich matrix and Cr2O3-containing spinel help resist basic slag erosion and chemical wear.

    Thermal Stability

Periclase and magnesia-chrome spinel structure helps withstand repeated heating and cooling.

    Severe Furnace Applications

Suitable for steel furnaces, cement rotary kilns, non-ferrous smelting furnaces and glass kiln regenerators.

    Applications of Magnesia Chrome Brick

Magnesia chrome brick is suitable for high-temperature furnace lining areas exposed to basic slag, chemical corrosion, thermal load and repeated temperature changes. It is commonly used in steelmaking, cement, non-ferrous metallurgy and glass furnace applications.

Open-hearth furnaces and electric furnaces: Used for the roofs and side walls of open-hearth furnaces and electric furnaces, where the lining must withstand high temperature, basic slag attack and chemical corrosion from furnace gases.

Converters and steel ladles: Used for converter linings and steel ladle working linings. The magnesia-chrome structure provides good resistance to basic slag erosion and helps maintain lining stability under high-temperature steelmaking conditions.

Cement rotary kilns: Used in the burning zone of cement rotary kilns, where refractory bricks are exposed to high temperature, clinker abrasion, coating changes and alkali attack.

Non-ferrous metal smelting furnaces: Used for the linings of copper, nickel, lead and other non-ferrous metal smelting furnaces. The Cr2O3-containing spinel phase helps improve resistance to complex slag corrosion and molten metal attack.

Glass kiln regenerators: Used in the regenerator of glass kilns, where the brick must resist high-temperature gas flow, alkali vapor corrosion and repeated heating and cooling cycles.

    Manufacturing and Quality Control

JHYRef controls magnesia chrome brick quality from raw material selection to final inspection. High-quality magnesia, chrome-bearing raw materials, and fused clinker are selected according to product grade. The materials are crushed, screened, mixed, shaped under pressure, dried, and fired at high temperature to develop stable refractory phases and strong bonding structure.

Quality control can include chemical composition testing, dimension inspection, apparent porosity, bulk density, cold crushing strength, refractoriness under load, and visual inspection. For export orders, bricks are packed carefully to reduce breakage during long-distance transportation. Wooden pallets, moisture-proof packaging, labels, and customized marks can be arranged according to project requirements.
